Garston Ladies Football Club are on the move again, as they announce that agreement has been reached with the Metropolitan Police Sports Ground, Bushey, for both Junior & Senior teams to use their fantastic playing and social facilities from 2009 – and as they see their 1st team win the league and move into London & South East Premier Division.

It hardly seems possible that our little club, started in 1996 with one seven-a-side Under eleven, age group and squad, playing on a single school playing field at Lea Farm School in Watford should in 2009 find itself running junior teams from U9 to U14 (and growing) and four adult ladies teams. Maybe even more amazing is that several of the players who started out in that first ever team are still playing for the club and will next year find themselves playing for the Senior 1st XI in London & South East Premier Division, and to cap it all, they, along with the many players who have joined us since, will find themselves playing on some of the best pitches, with the best facilities anywhere in the local or surrounding areas (Please eee Met Police website for details www.metpolicebushey.co.uk ).

I don't think anybody involved back in 1996 could have ever dreamed of the success that would follow. Success not just on the pitch in terms of Leagues won, County Cup final wins and appearances, League Cup final wins and appearances and seeing Garston Ladies FC name appear in the Women’s FA Cup draw but also success off of the pitch in terms of offering football to so many girls and ladies throughout Watford and the surrounding areas. And in terms of seeing so many lasting friendships grow and blossom over the years.
 
One thing is for sure we are about more than just winning football matches, we also know how to celebrate, win or lose, players from all four of our senior teams can be found socialising together after matches. Our four senior teams may be selected on merit for matches but once those matches are over we are truly ONE CLUB and all players are equal, many of our senior players past and present help or have helped manage, coach and support our junior section teams, how many clubs can honestly say that they can boast that sort of togetherness?

Much like the seniors, the juniors have progressed both on and off the field this season. With some fantastic achievements and football played. We are very happy to announce our new home for next season and hope that we can continue to attract more young players to the beautiful game, with the great facilities we can now boast to offering. We are looking to run at all age groups for the 2009-2010 season and are currently inviting any new players along to a training night at the Met Police, with the intention of planning for the season ahead and tournaments over the summer. ON SUNDAY 7th JUNE 2009, THE UNDER 12's STORMED TO THE FINAL OF THE HATFIELD YOUTH OPEN,
ONLY TO FACE A GARSTON VS GARSTON ENCOUNTER. WELL DONE TO ALL OF THE UNDER 12's,
YOU WERE ALL WINNERS ON THE DAY, AND OUR 3rd SEASON IN A ROW WE HAVE COME HOME WITH
THE SILVERWARE. FANTASTIC ACHIEVEMENT FOR ALL INVOLVED.
