;Garston Ladies Football Club

The club was formed in 1996 at Lea Farm School, Garston, in response to the increasing demand for girls’ football and has grown rapidly in each successive year to become one of the largest female only clubs in the county. In May 2002, we were delighted to join forces with Everett Ladies to form Garston Ladies FC.

We are proud to offer girls football at a vast range of age groups from Under 9, through to Adult football, with around 130 playing members aging between 7 - 45 and with the numbers growing each week. However we are always looking to expand and welcome all new players regardless of ability - our one acceptance criteria is that you want to play football.

We have been affiliated to the Hertfordshire FA since the club was founded and our Junior teams play games in the Home Counties Girls League and The Herts Girls Football Partnership League - results and tables can be found on the HCGFL website:

www.football.mitoo.co.uk

Our 4 Senior teams are currently playing in the Greater London Women’s League & The London & South East Regional League.

In 2004 - 2005 all of our managers and coaches successfully gained their 1st For Sport FA Level 1 Football Coaching License and became Qualified First Aiders by St. Johns Ambulance. The club can also boast a number of Hertfordshire FA Referee’s associated with the club.

We have deservedly won a reputation for being a competitive, fair and friendly club, and were delighted to be awarded the FA Charter Standard recently in recognition of the high standards and best practice that we apply to running Garston Ladies FC.

In 2006 - 2007 we succeeded in fielding an Under 9 Squad for FA Festivals across the county and a 3rd team in Senior football. Additionally our Senior 1st XI entered the Womens FA Cup for the first time.

The 2008 - 2009 season has seen many changes both on and off the pitch. We have welcomed some fresh blood to the Committee, and said thank you to those of you who have given up so much of your time for the club. We have also gained an extra Adult team, with the help of the two Under 16 teams deciding to make the move to adult football. The younger age groups have entered the newly formed Herts Girls Football Partnership League, and are enjoying many successes. The club has also backed many of the FA's new schemes, such as the Respect Campaign, by helping maintain high standards on the touchline during matches.

We aim to provide a caring, family environment within the club where your daughter can develop her skills and enjoy her football free from pressure or fear of failure. We will not tolerate poor behaviour, bad language or abuse in any form from coaches, players, parents or spectators.

Whilst we are a competitive club playing in competitive leagues, we recognise that the actual playing of matches is only one aspect of what we do. We firmly believe that taking part in organised team sports can be extremely beneficial in developing the social skills, team work and self-confidence that will help to set up our players for their adult life to come. Fundamental to our approach is the belief that football should be fun otherwise it’s not worth doing in the first place!

Finally - we are continuously looking to improve the facilities we can offer and are interested in talking to companies or individuals interested in sponsoring us or supporting the club in other ways. Please visit our Sponorship and How to Sponsor Us pages for current sponsors and ways to become a new sponsor.
