Under 8 Season Review

September 2010 saw the coming together of the U7's & U8's with managers Sarah & Kayleigh. We already had 5 girls on board, 4 of which had experience playing up a year with the U9's. It wasn't long before the squad started to grow and we can now boast 10 fully signed up & regular attendees each week, with more girls arriving all the time. January 2011 saw the beginning of many successes at HGFPL Festivals and arranged friendly matches & gave the girls their first chance to show off their new kit sponsored by Bam Nuttall.

Since then, we have scored 65 goals in 8 outings including every girl seeing their name on the score sheet. Every player has worn the orange goalkeeper jersey and all the girls have shared positions, increasing their positional sense and tactical knowledge across the park. The girls have grown as a team and as individuals and each week test their managers at training, trying new and advanced skills and techniques. They are a joy to watch, creating beautiful flowing football and striking the ball in the net. As the weeks go on, the girls are set to conquer everything we throw at them, both at training and on the field but continue to lead by example and offer words of encouragement and sportsmanship.

We cannot wait for their first official season of football together in 2011-12 and don't think it too long until the girls will be celebrating silverware. Here's to a fantastic season and an exciting league season ahead.
